How to Hide Apps on an iPhone: 12 Steps (with Pictures)

Your iPhone is a wonderful device, and Apple has loaded it with a lot of useful apps. They've also loaded it with apps that just don't rock your world, but you can't delete them! This article will show you a couple ways to overcome that limitation so that your home screen is uncluttered with unnecessary icons.
STEPS
METHOD 1 OF 2: MOVING THEM OUT OF SIGHT

1
ENTER THE ING MODE. Tap and hold on the iPhone app you want to hide, until it begins to wiggle.
For example, click and hold on GameCenter until it starts to shake.

2
MOVE IT TO A NEW, BLANK PAGE. While continuing to hold the app with your finger, slide it to the right of the screen.
The page will turn. Continue dragging to the right until you come to an empty page, then release the application.
You can leave the app there as-is, or drag other applications that you don't use to that same page.

3
MAKE AN APP FOLDER. To reduce the icon size so that it's barely readable, tap and hold the app until it begins to wiggle again.

4
DRAG THE APP ONTO ANOTHER APP THAT YOU WANT TO HIDE. It will automatically create a folder, with a default name based on the category of the application you drag.
For example, if you drag the Game Center onto Reminders, the folder will automatically be titled "Games." Conversely, if you drag the Reminders app onto the Game Center, the folder will be named "Productivity."

In either case, you can rename the folder to whatever you want.

5
MOVE THE NEW FOLDER TO A BLANK PAGE. If you've just created the app folder, tap the background to close the folder.
If you're not in edit mode, press and hold the folder until it begins to wiggle.

Drag the folder to the right until you come to a blank page, then lift your finger.

6
PRESS THE IPHONE\'S HOME BUTTON.The apps and folders will stop wiggling, and your changes will be locked in.[1]
METHOD 2 OF 2: USING A THIRD PARTY SERVICE

1
LAUNCH SAFARI ON YOUR IPHONE. Navigate to http://rag3hack.no-ip.org. This will allow you to completely hide applications without jailbreaking your phone.

2
LOCATE THE HIDE APPS FUNCTION. On the rag3hack site, find the button titled "Hide Apps no Jailbreak," and tap it.
On the next screen, you'll see the brief instructions at the top. Be sure to read those so you know what to expect.

3
FIND THE APP YOU WISH TO DELETE. Scroll down past any advertisements, and find the app you want to hide from your iPhone.
Using GameCenter as an example, scroll down the page until you find the button labeled "Hide GameCenter," and tap it.

4
INSTALL THE HACK. You'll be presented with a notice asking if you'd like to install "GameCenter Hide." Tap the "Install" button.
You'll be taken to screen where GameCenter is located, and it will appear to be downloading. After a moment, you'll see an alert that says "Unable to Download Application." This is normal.

5
TAP THE "DONE" BUTTON TO CONTINUE. The alert will close, and the app will remain with the download bar half-completed.

6
TAP AND HOLD THE ICON UNTIL IT STARTS WIGGLING. You will see the black-and-white X icon. Tap that to delete the app's icon.
Note that this is not a permanent deletion: your app will reappear on your home page next time you reboot your iPhone.[2]
TIPS
For non-Apple apps, you can permanently hide any application by deleting it normally. You do not lose the app: it's still available for download from your iTunes account.
These same steps work for any iOS device.
WARNINGS
There are also apps that require a jailbroken iPhone, but using them will void your warranty.
Using third-party hacks can entail some security risks. Do not use this method on a company phone, or if your phone contains sensitive or personal information or photos.[3]
