How to Connect Your Android to Windows 8: 5 Steps (with Pictures)

If you have an Android phone, you'll need to connect it to your computer with something like the USB data cord in order to transfer files back and forth.
STEPS

1
CONNECT YOUR ANDROID TO YOUR COMPUTER WITH THE USB CORD. Right-click on the folder icon in the bottom left corner of the Windows desktop.

2
SELECT "FILE EXPLORER" FROM THE RESULTS THAT APPEAR IN THE POP UP WINDOW.

3
CLICK ON THE "COMPUTER" OPTION TO SEE THE DEVICES CONNECTED TO YOUR COMPUTER.

4
SELECT THE DRIVE THAT CORRESPONDS WITH THE ANDROID DRIVE YOU WANT TO CONNECT TO. There will often be two, one for the SD card memory, and one for the built-in memory.

5
OPEN THE FOLDER YOU WANT TO CONNECT TO ON YOUR PHONE. You can then either drop files into it, or take files from your phone and put them on your computer.
TIPS
Most Android phones should mount automatically now, but if the phone won't connect, you may have to select a "mount drive" option on the phone itself first.
Try installing auto-sync software(s) for your phone. Example: If your phone is manufactured by Samsung, try installing Kies. If your phone is manufactured by HTC, try installing HTC Sync.
